The main activities of the project were related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing and develop a <strong>model suite<\/strong> (the <strong>HARMONY MS<\/strong>), integrating <strong>land-use models<\/strong> (strategic\/long-term), people and freight <strong>activity-based models<\/strong> (tactical\/mid-term), and multimodal <strong>network models<\/strong> (operational\/short-term) allowing for vertical planning.<\/li>\n<li>Identify <strong>new mobility services<\/strong>, <strong>concepts and technologies<\/strong> for people and freight for urban, suburban, and regional transport and their business models.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing demonstrations with <strong>electric AVs, robots<\/strong>, and <strong>drones<\/strong> for freight delivery to understand in real-life their requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Recommending updates for <strong>spatial and transport strategies and SUMPs<\/strong> to deal with mobility transition to decarbonise the transport sector.<\/li>\n<li>Applying and validating the model suite on <strong>six EU metropolitan areas<\/strong>: Rotterdam(NL), Oxfordshire(UK), Turin(IT), Athens(GR), Trikala(GR), Upper Silesian-Zaglebie Metropolis(PL).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9873 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Harmony-drone-1024x264.png\" alt=\"Harmony drone\" width=\"960\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.trt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Harmony-drone-1024x264.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.trt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Harmony-drone-300x77.png 300w, https:\/\/www.trt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Harmony-drone-768x198.png 768w, https:\/\/www.trt.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Harmony-drone-260x67.png 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:767px) 480px, (max-width:960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The consortium, coordinated by the University College of London, consisted of 21 partners. TRT led the activities related to spatial and transport strategies and SUMPs, and it was involved in the technical activities to design and develop the modelling suite. The Strategic Level is mainly composed of regional economic, demographic forecasting, land-use, spatial freight interaction and long-term mobility choice models. The Tactical level is made of a fully agent-based passenger and freight demand model, representing passenger and freight agents\u2019 choices.
