HARMONY H2020 Training Workshops
The H2020 funded project HARMONY aims to develop a new generation of harmonised spatial and multimodal transport planning tools, to represent new forms of mobility for freight and people, enabling metropolitan areas authorities to lead the transition to a low carbon new mobility era in a sustainable manner.
The project got into full swing this week with the Training Workshops, with the first event taking place in Delft (NL), hosted by TUD – Delft University of Technology: TRT contributed to a two days presentation and demonstration of the HARMONY Model Suite (MS), an integrated modeling platform to support transport planning and policies analysis, including measures and services aiming at the decarbonization of mobility in metropolitan areas. The HARMONY MS is developed with the goal of having a software-agnostic, multi-scale, activity-based tool that can be used through a user-friendly web interface by different types of users (planners, decision makers, researchers, and transport service operators).
The Model Suite integrates different models with a multi-scale approach, considering Strategic (Long Term), Tactical (Medium Term) and Operational (Short Term) Level tools. The models have been integrated by partner MOBYX into a platform accessible online, enabling the simulations of different scenarios and the comparison of results through selected indicators in the HARMONY MS Dashboard.
In Delft, workshop’ participants were able to access and use the HARMONY MS for the first time. The feedback was very positive and suggestions were collected to improve and finalize the tool under development.
The next dates for HARMONY MS workshops and presentations will be in Athens (National Technical University of Athens, November 7-8th), Turin (UrbanLab, November 14th) and London (University College of London, UCL, November 17-18th).
In February 2023, the final conference of the project will be held in Barcelona.
